Cable Rejuvenation Processes
Novinium’s patented cable rejuvenation methods can be used independently or in combination to address any technical challenge including submarine environments, extreme temperatures, blocked splices, radial segments, and neutral corrosion.
- Sustained Pressure Rejuvenation (SPR) is Novinium’s patented, second-generation method for restoring underground cable to better-than new condition. SPR is the fastest, safest, and most effective cable injection method available.
- Improved Unsustained Pressure Rejuvenation (iUPR) is Novinium’s patented method for extending the life of underground cables that cannot be treated using SPR, such as hard-to-reach splices and radial segments.
Cable Rejuvenation Fluids
Novinium’s patented cable rejuvenation fluids can be specially formulated to ensure optimal performance in tropical soils, subzero temperatures, and everything in between.
- Cablecure 732 is Novinium’s proprietary, high-performance fluid used for all PE insulated applications. It is the most advanced cable rejuvenation fluid available and is backed by a 40-year warranty.
- Cablecure iXL is Novinium’s lower-cost, moderate-performance fluid used for less demanding applications, such as low-load and non-thermic soils. It can extend useful cable length by up to 25 years.

The idea of rejuvenating cables to better-than-new performance might seem too good to be true, but it is a clear and proven scientific process. Our Novinium Rejuvenation Instructions (NRIs), detailing exactly what we do and how we do it, are freely available.

All of Novinium’s proprietary fluids are designed to be as safe as possible for people, property, and the environment when used and handled properly. Complete safety data sheets for every Novinium injection fluid, with detailed information about ingredients, potential hazards, recommended personal and environmental precautions, first aid measures, accidental spillage and cleanup procedures, and safe handling and storage, are collected here.
