Intermountain Rural Electric Association

The Intermountain Rural Electric Association (Intermountain REA) began to experience an increasing number of failures with cable laid in the in 1970s and ‘80s. By proactively rejuvenating entire neighborhoods before cables failed, the utility improved service levels to a 99.4 percent reliability rate and saved tens of millions of dollars.

London Hydro

London Hydro, Ontario, Canada

As an alternative to ongoing cable replacement, London Hydro asked Novinium to conduct a pilot cable injection project in a large subdivision. Since then, Novinium has gone on to inject more than 174,465 meters of cable for London Hydro and cable failures have declined by 58 percent.

Matanuska Electric Association (MEA)

MEA, Palmer, AK, U.S.A.

Matanuska Electric Association (MEA) found that even subdivisions with well-laid cable were experiencing increasing faults with the stress of multiple freezes each year, so the utility decided to try cable injection to restore reliable service. Now, the Novinium-trained MEA staff can do the work so efficiently that MEA plans to continue using cable injection year-round.
