Today’s utilities face the complex challenge of balancing tight budgets while maintaining high safety standards, all while providing customers with reliable service at affordable prices. This webinar will provide a first-hand account of how a utility was able to achieve higher levels of performance by incorporating cable rejuvenation into a comprehensive reliability maintenance program. The City of St. Charles has over 120 MW of peak power use with six substations serving over 12,000 customers and has a detailed tracking system for outage statistics. The strategies explained during the webinar will provide participants with an approach that implements the most capital-efficient systems while ensuring safety and reliability of service.
The webinar will be conducted by Tom Bruhl, electrical services manager for the City of St. Charles, Ill. Thomas Bruhl, PE, graduated from Purdue University and now manages the planning and maintenance activities for the transmission, distribution, and substations for the City of St. Charles, Ill. This cable rehabilitation strategy reflects the City’s focus on safety, reliability, and providing a highly valued service to its customers.
The webinar will take place on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. ET and will include a presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. The webinar will discuss the components of the City’s proactive asset management approach, identifying target subdivisions, implementing the program, and their program’s results.
